Subsequent to the razing of Hogsmeade, the Town of Bellsbury is the only all wizard community in the U.K. Bordering on being a wizarding metropolis, rather than a humble magical village, Bellsbury is fit to burst with activity from those who have finally looked beyond the horrors of the Second Dark War and grasped their dreams. The many inns and pubs are constantly filled; the marketplace is fast replacing Diagon Alley as the centre of wizard trade and the Bellsbury Town Hall – never mind its vast park – has been host to many events, including two of the biggest festivals in recent decades: the 2007 Winter Festival and the 2007 Hallowfest.

For the most part, it is a residential place and does not rely on its cosmopolitan nature to thrive. Many of the ten thousand residents stay because of the quiet nature grated by the sprawling, ancient Forest of Dean, which Bellsbury lays along the westernmost edge of. And although Warren Hugo Tristam - the Mayor of Bellsbury - has expressed interest in making it more than what it currently is, it relaxes comfortably with its miles of cobbled streets and tiny nooks for smaller businesses made by those who have settled in their chocolate box cottages (or manors) and doesn’t seem to be taking a turn for anything worse.

History

Bellsbury was founded in _________________.

Geography

The Town of Bellsbury is located _________ miles _____________ of _____________________ in the kingdom of ________________. The land it is built on is mostly flat, allowing for the pleasant sprawl of one, two, and three story houses surrounding the small town centre, where a few shops and cafés exist in house like buildings along the streets nearest Albus Park. One is generally considered to be within the town of Bellsbury, if they are within earshot of the town bell tower.

The perimeter of the town is protected by Muggle Repelling Charms, but there is an avenue of entrance where, if lead by a magical, a Muggle can come to enter the town. Once inside there are no such charms and Muggles may move freely, although it is expected, by the social structure of the town, that they be accompanied by a magical chaperon.

Locations of Interest

Albus Park

Albus Park is a large, circular park in the western half of the town. The statue of Albus Dumbledore is the centrepiece of the large fountain, found in the middle of the park.

Albus Park Marketplace

Near the East side of the park, along the main footpath thru the park is a permanently installed marketplace, where stalls can be found along the main avenue of the park, and down a few of the side paths as well. This marketplace expands with temporary tents and stalls along the remainder of the main avenue of the park and down several more side paths, during town festivals, of which there have thus far been two.

Bell Tower

The Bellsbury Bell Tower is located directly opposite the east entrance to Albus Park. It is the centerpiece of the town. The Bell is rung at celebrations, town gatherings and daily at 6pm. Any unscheduled ringing of the bell should be treated as an alert to any emergency requiring as many town folk as possible to combat, such as a structure fire.

Shopping Area

The town streets directly east of Albus Park contain the highest concentrations of shops and dining establishments, with the larger, and more high end establishments nearer the belltower and directly across the street from the park itself, and smaller shops as one heads towards the residential areas. As one nears the residential areas, more and more of the shops also double as the homes of their proprietors.

Residential Areas

The majority of the town is taken up in peoples houses, with heavier concentrations directly to the east of the shopping area, and lower concentrations around the perimeter of the town, including west of Albus Park. There are no apartment buildings in Bellsbury, although there are families who rent out rooms in their homes, or apartments in their attics or basements.
